Vista, California Area

  • Vista is home to many exciting special events. Whether you are looking for a concert, street fair, antique car show, art exhibit or any other type event, you will find something to see and do in Vista.

  • Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum Located on 55 acres of rolling farm ground, 2009 marks 33 years the Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum has been here in Vista. Over that period our Museum has grown to become one of the premier educational and recreational facilities in North San Diego County. With over eleven hundred volunteers, our Museum's collections focus on the 1849 through the early 1960’s era and actively demonstrates an Early California Farm; and the businesses that grew up to support farmers. Exhibits include farm equipment from horse drawn through modern row crop equipment.

  • Vista Historical Society & Museum The Vista Historical Society & Museum gathers, preserves, and archives historical items and documents from the individuals, families, and businesses, that have made the city of Vista California their home in San Diego County. The Vista Historical Society & Museum is still active and operational. However the physical museum is temporarily closed due to our setting up the museum at its new location at Rancho Minerva, which is currently scheduled for September 24, 2009. You can still come see us at our temporary offices at the above address. Please feel free to stop by or to contact the Vista Historical Society & Museum via email or telephone with your questions. Admission is FREE, donations are happily accepted. An essential source of our funding comes from inexpensive Memberships, and from our unique commemorative Products representing life here in Vista, CA. Memberships and products are available for purchase over the phone or in person.

  • Alta Vista Botanical Gardens As the gardens continue to be developed, plant enthusiasts will be thrilled at the wide variety of rare, beautiful and remarkable plants which will be showcased in the gardens. For everyone else in the community, there will be equally compelling reasons to come to the gardens. Rather than taking the conventional approach of creating just another living plant museum, this garden will become a gathering place for the community. One key attraction of the garden will be the integration of art throughout the project, giving artists a magnificent showcase to display their talents. From garden art to sculptures, to walkways and walls created by some of the area’s most talented artisans will be on display. However, art in the garden does not end with just visual art, one of the next garden areas under development is the Ceremonial Garden, which will be host to several types of activities including music and vocal recitals, lectures, poetry readings, wedding ceremonies and more. Along the trail systems, throughout the garden, will be multipurpose platforms, which will act as way stations for the visitors. These platforms eventually will play host to a multitude of events in the garden, such as fine art shows, culinary events, the performing arts, as well as Tai Chi and Yoga. The goal of the garden is to go as far as possible to "Bring together People, Nature and Art".

  • Moonlight Amphitheatre Stage House While many cities present entertainment in venues they own and operate, very few house their own dedicated theatrical production company. For almost 30 years, Moonlight Stage Productions of the City of Vista has produced professional musicals and theater productions from the ground up. The renovation provided Moonlight with a fully equipped, modernized stage house complete with new audio systems, theatrical lighting, motorized rigging and full orchestra pit. AD provided acoustics recommendations including environmental noise control as well as designed audio systems that would optimize the space and ensure excellent sound coverage to all seating areas.
